The Slingerland Technique is one, and it still is employed in schools today.

Lindamood-Bell is another teaching strategy that has demonstrated to be quite successful. It returns to this, however : an adult dyslexia test is the beginning point. This can answer the questions that they almost certainly have been fighting with their whole lives – have I got a disability? What’s wrong with me? Why do I believe one thing and write another? Why is it so tough for me to read? Getting tested will help start them on their journey toward answers to those hard questions.

Maybe all they need is a little leg up – like reading a book while listening to a similar thing on CD. No matter what the problem, there’s nearly usually a good solution – it just needs to be identified and a way of achieving the solution will then quickly follow.
