When starting a new diet, it helps to have a plan to go by. These plans help a dieter to get started and to stay on track when striving to achieve their weight loss goals. This article will give a review on a book that is a step by step plan for a raw food detox diet.
The book that is being reviewed in this article is a guide for those dieters that want to lose weight by transitioning to a raw food diet, slowly. The diet is broken up into five levels. A dieter may start with the first level or they may choose to start at a higher level. It all depends on what level the dieter feels best suits their diet needs. By following this raw food detox diet, the dieter can move from level to level at their own pace.
The foods that can be eaten on the first level are basically raw fruits, vegetables, and juices through out the day. At dinner, the dieter is allowed to eat a meal that consists of all vegetables most days, however salmon is allowed one day a week. As the dieter progresses through each step, they will be able to add some cooked foods in small amounts, however the raw food detox, will consist mainly of raw fruits and vegetables.
Once the dieter reaches level five of the raw food detox diet, they will be able to decrease the amount of raw food in their diet to seventy five percent. The other foods will consist of a one cook meal per day, which can be a pasta dish that is made with vegetables. At this level it is also okay to add small quantities of animal products such as eggs, chicken, or fish. If the dieter would like to use dairy products at this point, they should limit it to goat cheese.
Like in any other diet, there are recommended foods that will help the dieter reach their goal. On a raw food detox diet the such foods as raw fruits and vegetables form the basic foundation for this diet. Other foods such as nuts and seeds that are raw, dried fruit, goat cheese, and several others are recommended. In this book about raw food detox diets, it talks about raw substitutes for breads, cookies and other commercial type foods. In addition there are examples of less strict foods that can be eaten as the dieter moves up the levels such as pasta, steamed vegetables or brown rice. On all levels the dieter is allowed a raw desert.
With any diet there are pros and cons. In this guide book about a raw food detox diet, there are lists of pros and cons. Some of the pros are: the large intake of raw fruit and vegetable, allows the dieter to follow the diet at their own pace, and allows sweets such as ice cream. The cons are: all foods are made from scratch, it is hard to eat out, allows to many carbohydrates, expense may be a factor and exercise is not encouraged.
Depending on the dieters life style, this diet may be just the diet for them. It all depends whether or not the diet wants to try a raw food detox diet as to whether this type of diet is for them.
