If you are asking yourself Why do I have acne? and Can I avoid acne? than we have some answers for you. First lets tackle the “Why do I have acne” question.
Acne is causes by the increased levels of sebum in the skin. Sebum is an essential oil that the skin needs a certain amount of to function properly. However, if the sebaceous gland in the skin is producing too much of this oil that it will get blocked below the skin pore and as there is no where for the sebum to go once the blockage has occurred there will be an increase in pressure and that is when acne symptoms occur.
I hope that has answered the the question of Why do I have acne, and we can now move on to the question of avoiding it. To avoid acne you would need to stop the hormonal change that is causing the sebaceous gland to over produce sebum. So if you have teenage acne or pregnancy acne it is going to be difficult to avoid as these hormone changes are essential. However, there are other triggers of hormone change that can be avoided such as if it was bought on by an significant increase in calories. This does not mean that acne is associated with how many calories you eat, so don’t go starving yourself, but a sudden increase in calories can lead to hormone change so avoid pigging out.
If you have acne and think that it is unavoidable, don’t worry. There are some successful treatment that you can use that will make it seem as though acne doesn’t exist
