Exercise has become an essential part of everyone’s lives because it helps in reducing stress and anger and keeps your body in shape. Making exercise a part of your daily routine makes you physically active and fit. Most people join gyms where they can use a wide range of exercise equipment with the help of a trainer. However many people who are very busy with their work activities and don’t have time for joining fitness clubs or gyms prefer investing in their own exercise equipment.
Exercise machines usually falls into two main categories that are based on the type of exercise provided including cardio and strength training. A wide range of these are available in specialty shops but here is some of the essential equipment that you should consider investing in if you want to remain physically fit.
• The elliptical machine is a running machine that is designed in a way that your feet never leave the platform. This machine has two separate platforms, one for each foot and is like treadmill but as you run the platform starts moving in a circular motion. Movement of the platform in a circular motion reduces the wear and tear on your knees.
• Treadmill machines are similar to elliptical machines for cardio exercise. A treadmill includes a display screen which tracks the number of miles you have travelled and the calories you have burnt. This also keeps a notice of your heart rate and provides alterative for customizing your workout.
• Rowing machines are also a type of exercise equipment that give you similar workout to that of a rowing boat. The use of this machine helps you in keeping your body in shape. You can sit on the seat and pull yourself towards the bar while at the same time pushing it with your legs.
• Ab rollers are great for people who want to develop their abs. This machine is very inexpensive and can easily be afforded by low income earners. To use this machine all you have to do is lie on the ground and rest your head and arms on the headset and armrest respectively. Once you have taken the right position you can start exercising.
• Weight machines have a number of weights attached to the pulley and are a type of strength training. You can lift the weights by pulling or pushing various other parts of the machine. This exercise equipment is better than free weights because it allows you to lift greater amounts and is safer.
Each piece of exercise equipment is designed for a different purpose. Some are designed for making muscles while some focus on improving your body shape. However whenever thinking about investing in exercise equipment it’s important that you consider your own exercise routine, space in your home and the kind of exercises you plan to do. You should only invest in the machine that meet your fitness needs.
