My Mooching Roommate, Free Makeup and Constant Dilemmas

I have a roommate who just hates paying for stuff. Seriously, she somehow will always find a way to avoid having to spend money on anything. Whether it’s mooching off of me, or her other friends, or her family, or people in the neighborhood, she just makes sure someone else pays for everything. Honestly, it kind of makes me mad sometimes. I’ve thought about talking to her about it, but I get so antsy about what I could possibly say that woudl get my point across without hurting her feelings.
Anyways, the other day, I came across a website that had a whole bunch of offers for free makeup samples. They are good ones too, like ones for MAC Cosmetics, Chanel and Dior. Since my roommate doesn’t have tons of money, I thought I could help her out by showing her the site. The question is, do I share the info with my roomie? Or do I keep it to myself. I feel like I’m almost just enabling her bad behaviour and bad habits if I tell her how to get free makeup. But, on the other hand, if I don’t, I actually feel like i’m being pretty selfish. Weird huh. It’s pretty much a no win situation for me when stuff like this comes up. I never know what to do, and I feel crummy whichever choice I make.
Situations like this seem to pop up about every week or so. I end up feeling frustrated and kindof mad that I’m the one ending up feeling trapped. On the other hand, I recognize that I need to make a choice instead of complaining and not doing anything about the situation. I also probably need to work on being more assertive. What would you do?
Maybe I should just give her some updated makeup tips and call it good.
