Cycling: The New Fitness Trend
May 15th, 2010 by admin
How many times have you started a diet and started going to the gym just to get i shape for the fast approaching summer? I did this year too, so I went to the gym. But now, as summer is approaching and it’s getting warmer and warmer, the weather is mostly sunny I don’t really feel like locking myself up in a dark gym, with 30 other sweaty people, in a room with very little fresh air, drafty and where you sometimes have to wait up to half an hour for one of the training bikes to be free.
So, what best than buying your own bike and making hikes? Nothing like going out on a beautiful spring-summer day, in nature, maybe forest, maybe even in the mountains, and take a long trip on your bike? Even if you’re not feeling up to the hard work of cycling, there are many electric bikes available to buy to make it a bit easier on the hills.
You can enjoy the sun, the forest, fresh air, what could be better? Some would say they’d prefer to run, but cycling is actually a much better option as it saves you the trouble of joints damage. When you jog, your knee and ankle joints are worked up and you can be sore after a while. This won’t happen when you go cycling, because you are seated most of the time, and the weight of your body is more evenly distributed and it’s not all sustained by your legs.
SO, because we all know that doctors advise us to exercise at least thirty minutes each day, cycling could be a pleasant exercise, so good for our health, and also a nice way to relax, unwind and benefit from a change of scenery, because honestly, how many times a week o you get to get out of your offices or homes?
