Chronic Pain Can Be Banished by Magnetic Jewellery

March 5th, 2010 by admin

When chronic pain sufferers hear about magnetic jewellery they are usually highly skeptical. Some people have suffered with their pain for years, have tried every therapy and “cure” they can find, and usually come away disappointed. Many sufferers, however, report finding blessed relief after trying magnetic jewellery.Magnetic therapy, in the form of jewellery such as magnetic bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings, is said to benefit the wearer by relieving restricted blood vessels, increasing circulation and oxygenating the blood, and triggering the release of endorphins. Scientists at the University of Virginia, USA, have recently reported the finding that locally applied electromagnetics (such as magnetic bracelets, other kinds of magnetic jewellery, or plain magnets) decrease swelling. When increased circulation is restored, many chronic pain problems, such as inflamed tendons, tennis elbow, shoulder pain, muscle spasms, jaw problems, and chronic headache can be successfully treated by using this method.Magnetic therapy, such as the relatively new trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), has shown some success in the treatment of chronic depression and other mental problems that medication has not helped. It is said that TMS sends a “wake-up call” to nerve cells and stimulates different portions of the brain. For many years, people who have studied and benefited from magnetic therapy have said, “I don’t know how it works, but it does.” As medicine gains knowledge regarding the human body and all its mechanisms, the worth of magnetic bracelets is becoming clear. Whether we know why it works or not, relief is the most important thing we gain.
