    Alternative Approaches to Panic

    April 8th, 2010 by admin

The most common approach to getting better from any illness is sually that of the Western world: medicine. However as we have discovered taking in medication has both its ups and downs. Most of the time, the downside of it is just not as worth it as the upside is. With this in mind many people have sought alternative means to getting better.

We have all heard of ancient medicine or natural treatments that are popular in other parts of the globe. Take for example in China and Japan where accupunture or accupressure is often used. In many other places reflexology and aromatherapy are what they use. If these have been effective for treating various illnesses can they be effective to help us overcome panic attacks as well?

Although there is none or little medical basis for this those with this kind of anxiety disorder many of those who ahve tried it can vouch for its effectivness. There are mahy different alternative approaches to treating panic and anxiety but the one that has recieved most feedback is relaxation techniques.

By learning how to calm both your mind and your body this allows you to take control of the situation and stop a panic attack from taking place. It does not take much, just knowledge on how to breath properly and how to turn the negative thoughts and felings into something more positive ones.

If you have tried medication and other Western approaches before without any success, then there is nothing to lose in trying a different approach. You never know, what has worked for others in the past may actually work for you now.
